N2 - Summary form only given. A systematic investigation of Young's modulus on amorphous alloys has been carried out for the purpose of making clear (1) the contribution of the magnetovolume effect to Young's modulus (Es) and (2) the decisive factors of Young's modulus in amorphous conditions. The authors investigate the dependence of Young's modulus on added metals in amorphous, (Fe//1-//x M//x )//8 //5 B//1//5 (M equals Cr,Mn,Co,Ni), Fe-B, Co-B, and Fe-P alloys. Composition and temperature dependences of Es are indicated, the contribution of the Invar effect to Es is analyzed, and its dependence on the number of d-electrons is discussed. Differences in the strain dependence of the magnetovolume coupling constant for amorphous and crystalline materials are also treated.
