Usefulness of heidelberg Retina Tomograph II (version 3.0) in glaucoma screening

Purpose : To evaluate the usefulness of HRT II (Heidelberg Retina Tomograph II version 3.0) in public screening for glaucoma. Cases and Method : This study was made on 1,420 eyes of 710 persons who participated in glaucoma screening program. HRT II was persuaded and was processed by GPS global. Findings were compared with clinical diagnosis of glaucoma based on morphology of optic disc and visual field by Humphrey 24-2 test. Results : HRT was possible in 94.3% of participants, of which 82.9% gave reliable results. When compared with classification as glaucoma suspect by clinical diagnosis and guideline for borderline by HRT, the sensitivity ranged from 55.2 to 100% and specificity from 58.6 to 86.4%. Conclusion : HRT II processed by GPS global promises to be of value in detecting glaucoma in public screening program.
