We evaluate the outcome of 43 patients with acute arterial bleeding who was treated by transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) with microcoils. Primary technical success rate was 91% (39 of 43), and primary failed four cases had severe coagulopathy (platelet count less than 5 × 104/μL and/or INR greater than 1.5). Formation of red thrombus embedding the interspace between coil metals is not expected in a condition of severe coagulopathy. Microcoils placement as close as possible to bleeding site and dense filling with coils are necessary for treating acute hemorrhage in a condition of severe coagulopaty.
