This paper describes time response property of a solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) sensor. SPE is a functional polymer that has been attracted attention in broad fields to be able to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. The SPE has the other advantages such as lightweight, flexibility, good workability and air-stable output so that it is expected to be developed as a soft actuator and a sensor. However, it has not yet investigated that time response properties of the SPE sensor. In the paper, in order to reveal time response property of the SPE sensor, the sensor outputs for several deformation velocities are measured. Then the influence of the sensor deformation velocity on the sensor output is evaluated. Maximum voltage in the transient response and attenuation properties of the output voltage for constant deformation are analyzed. Results show that the attenuation characteristics depend on the sensor deformation velocity.
