Time-resolved photoinduced absorption of trans-polyacetylene from picoseconds to microseconds

抄録

The photoinduced absorption near the band edge and the bleaching of the interband transition in trans-polyacetylene have been investigated by ps and ns spectroscopies. The transient absorption in oriented trans-(CH)x at 10 K is most strongly induced by excitation light polarized perpendicular to the chains in the ns range, while it is independent of the polarization of the excitation light in the ps range. The decay curve of the absorbance change can be fitted to erf[(t/τ)- 1 2] with a time constant τ of several hundred ns. The decay kinetics is interpreted by the interchain recombination of polarons generated by the interchain photoexcitation.
