Thermal, electrical and optical studies on the poly(vinyl alcohol) based polymer electrolytes

抄録

Solid polymer proton conductors comprising of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), ammonium acetate, and water were prepared by solution cast method for different NH4+/OH- ratios. PVA could be effectively doped with ammonium acetate to enhance its conductivity and the maximum conductivity was obtained for a dopant concentration/polymer ratio (NH4+/OH-) of 0.25:1. The XRD study revealed the amorphous nature of the electrolyte. The dc polarization measurement showed that the conductivity was due to ions. There was no charge transfer complex between the salt and pure PVA.
