N2 - Thermal diffusivities of molten carbonates, Li2CO3, Na2CO3, K2CO3, Rb2CO3 and Cs2CO3 have been determined as a function of temperature using the differential three-layered laser flash method. The thermal diffusivity values of five carbonates in the molten state were found to be in the range of 3∼4 ′ 10-7 m2/s with slightly positive temperature dependence. In addition, the thermal diffusivity values of molten carbonates are independent of the type of cation. These features agree well with the results reported by Otsubo et al. in 1997 using the forced Rayleigh scattering method.
