abstract = "We studied the time evolutions of the electronic states on a quantum wire (QW) and a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG), which are suddenly coupled with a discrete level. We employed the tight-binding model to represent these systems, and calculate the time evolutions of the wave functions by solving the time-dependent (TD) Schr{\"o}dinger equation numerically. The resulting time evolutions indicate that the characteristics of the electron density distributions on both the QW and the 2DEG sensitively depend on the energy level of the discrete level. We found that the modulation of the electron density distribution is enhanced in the QW-QD coupled system.",
