The anodic oxide film formed on Al-2%Mg-0.1%Zr alloys (S2M) in non-aqueous electrolyte has excellent features. However, there is a problem that it is not possible to use in large-scale manufacturing equipment such as large-scale-integration, flat-panel-display, and solar cell because mechanical strength of the S2M is small. We made the Al-Mg-Zr alloys of a high Mg concentration, and evaluated it by the Vickers hardness for mechanical strength. The Vickers hardness of the Al-Mg-Zr alloy with high Mg concentration was high. Moreover, the quality of the anodic oxide film formed on these Al-Mg-Zr alloys in non-aqueous electrolyte was evaluated. The surface state of the anodic oxide film didn't have remarkable superiority by the difference of the Mg concentration in the Al-Mg-Zr alloys. But, the chlorine gas resistance became high by the increase of the Mg concentration.
