Study on the measurement of pulse magnetization characteristics of toroidal magnetic cores

It is necessary to measure pulse magnetization characteristic of the magnetic cores when designing and analyzing the performance of pulse magnetic elements. In this paper, the measuring methods and their application of pulse magnetization characteristics are analyzed based on theoretical and experimental results. The B-H curves obtained from the single winding circuit include the core magnetization and space magnetization, and those obtained from the double wingding circuit only reflect the pulse magnetization characteristics. Under single winding test, the voltage second product, and average saturated inductance are larger, and the Ψ-i characteristics can be used in the design and performance analysis of magnetic switches and magnetic core inductors. The results under double winding test are more suitable for the analysis of pulse magnetic properties of the core itself, and can be used in the design of pulse transformers and pulse current transformers.
