N2 - Solutions of ten-dimensional Maxwell-Einstein theory and a bosonic part of N = 2, D = 10 supergravity theory are examined. It is shown that there is a solution for which six-dimensional internal space is compactified into CP2 × S2. The gauge symmetry of the effective four-dimensional theory is SU(3) × SU(2) × U(1). The introduction of fermions is also considered. The requirement of consistency in introducing a spinc structure on CP2 results in a U(1) charge quantization condition.
