N2 - In this study, spin filter spin valves with the CoFe free layer and the SyAf/IrMn pinned layer are characterized. These valves show high magnetic resonance ratio and controllable bias point even in an ultrathin free layer, in addition to good softness and pinned layer stability. The presented SFSVs are promising for 10 approx. 40 Gb/in2 recording density.
