We have investigated the electronic structure of a La0.6Sr 0.4FeO3 (LSFO)/La0.6Sr0.4MnO 3 (LSMO) heterointerface using Mn 2p-3d resonant photoemission spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. We have found that the spectral intensity of eg↑ states near the Fermi level is gradually reduced with increasing LSFO overlayer thickness. The spectral behavior is quite similar to that of hole-doped LSMO films, indicating hole-doping in LSMO layers. We have also found that Fe 2p X-ray absorption spectrum of a LSMO/LSFO/LSMO trilayer shows the spectral evidence for electron doping in the corresponding LSFO layer. These results indicate the occurrence of charge transfer at interfaces between LSMO and LSFO layers.
