Spark plasma sintering of Al2O3 particulate dispersed Zr55Cu30OAl10Ni5 metallic glassy matrix composite

抄録

A spark plasma sintering technique was successfully used to consolidate Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 bulk metallic glassy matrix composite containing Al2O3 particulates. No crystallization of the glassy matrix occurred during the spark plasma sintering process. The Al2O3 particles were homogeneously dispersed in the Zr55Cu30Al10Ni5 glassy matrix. The crystallization behavior of the sintered composite was similar to that of the metallic glassy powder. A large compressive strength of the sintered composite specimens was exhibited.
