abstract = "Head and media designs for shingled recording are described, targeting areal recording densities of 2-3 Tbit/in2. The potential of the designs was evaluated using micromagnetic simulations. The possibility of achieving multiple Tbit/in2 is demonstrated using a continuous, perpendicular recording medium. The effects of write head skew, inter-granular exchange coupling and read head offset are discussed.",
