Selective and sensitive detection of volatile organic compounds in plasma film technology with amino acids and fluoropolymers

抄録

Plasma organic films, whose functionality can be modified by adjusting their molecular structures, have several potential applications as straight-forward chemical-sensing probes. Sensitive and durable sensing devices can be prepared by sputtering amino acids and fluoropolymers, whose solvatochromic properties are either polar or nonpolar, on quartz crystal microbalance plate. An indication of their sorption capacities, which provide sensory information, can be obtained from a physicochemical description of their molecular interactions with organic vapors based on the solvatochromic comparison method.
