Pressure effect on ferromagnet UTeS

抄録

The ferromagnet UTeS with the Curie temperature TC = 87 K has been studied by measuring the electrical resistivity ρ under high pressure using a single crystal sample grown by the chemical transport method. The electrical resistivity at room temperature ρRT decreases with increasing pressure. TC rapidly increases from 87 K at 0 GPa to 166 K at 8 GPa. These results suggest that there is a correlation between the electrical conductivity and the magnetic transition temperature. In contrast to the behavior of ρRT, the residual resistivity ρ0 is almost independent of pressure.
