The aim of this work is to make a novel biomaterial using nano hybrid of polyethylene (PE) and poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc). PVAc was blended into the amorphous region of PE by in situ radical polymerization of vinyl acetate using supercritical carbon dioxide. The mechanical properties of the nano hybrid improved. The acetyl group on the surface of the prepared nano hybrid was converted to the hydroxyl group by hydrolysis. The novel nano hybrid with the biocompatible surface was prepared by adding the PC group to the hydroxyl group. This surface significantly reduced plsma protein adsorption compared with that of the PE.
