Single-layer adsorption films formed from ionic molecules and macromolecules in aqueous media were studied. New methods for patterning the adsorption films by photochemical means based on photocontrol of multipoint adsorption sites on a substrate surface were developed. Photopatterned and positively charged adsorption films on a negatively charged substrate surface could be used as templates for selective adsorption of colloidal nano- and micro-spheres. By applying the selective adsorption to electroless plating, metal-wiring circuit boards could be prepared. Ni-P hollow microfibers could be molded from new morphology-tunable and recyclable template fibers formed from hydrogen-bonded polymeric molecular assemblages. Polymer organization surfaces such as a single-layer adsorption film of cationic polymer and hydrogen-bonded molecular assemblage were available for fine electroless plating.
