N2 - We have systematically studied Bragg Grating Filters in Si photonic-wire waveguides. The reflected wavelength and the photonic band-gap were controlled over a wide range by changing the design parameters. We found a photonic band-gap anomaly on the numerical calculations and verified it on the experimental measurements. This phenomenon originates from the abnormal localized optical mode in 1-D photonic crystals.
