The oxygen permeation current density through La0.75Ca0.25CrO3-δ was calculated as a function of the oxygen partial pressure gradient using a random point defect model. The oxygen permeation current density depends on the oxygen partial pressure at the low oxygen partial pressure side as Jo2-∝P-0.5o2 when the nonstoichiometry of the perovskite at that side is small. The oxygen permeation current density is independent of the oxygen partial pressure at the high oxygen partial pressure side when the nonstoichiometry of the perovskite at that side is small in comparison with the nonstoichiometry at the low oxygen partial pressure side. The result of this calculation describes also the Electrochemical Vapor Deposition process of this type of perovskite material.
