抄録

Flow visualizations by suspended zinc stearate particles and by paraffin mist, combined with hot film measurements of turbulent flow structures including vorticity and Reynolds stress, have revealed ordered motions in the air flow above laboratory wind waves. The air flow is characterized by the frequent existence of separation bubbles behind the wave crests, and of a train of ordered motions which have a horizontal scale corresponding to the wind wave length. Corresponding phenomena below the wind waves are also mentioned.
