Nondestructive evaluation of defects in conductive and non-conductive materials by high-frequency signal transmission characteristics technique

抄録

A nondestructive inspection (NDI) technique that utilizes high-frequency signal transmission characteristics for more reliable and faster defect detection was discussed. The technique was also used for quantitative evaluation of defects in metal and ceramic materials. The evaluation of defect was accomplished by measuring the amplitude ratio of the incident signal and the reflected signal of high frequency current. Results shows that the technique is valuable for ferro-magnetic and para-magnetic materials contaning fatigue cracks.
