An ionic liquid (IL)-containing porous polyurea (PU) nanogel electrolyte was synthesized from its constituent monomers and the IL 1-ethyl-3- methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide using an "all-in-vacuum"process. The porous PU thin film can absorb and evaporate the IL by deposition and thermal annealing in a vacuum, respectively. Toward its applications to a future "electrolyte wiring and electrochemical device integration"technology, the patterning of a porous PU-IL composite nanogel and its possible use as a nanoelectrolyte gate in electric double-layer organic transistors were demonstrated.
