    A new beta titanium alloy group which exhibits multi functions, such as, ultra-low elastic modulus, ultra-high strength, huge elasticity, clayey plasticity at room temperature without work hardening, Blinvar and Invar properties, has been developed. These "super" properties are attributable to an arcane feature in relation to plastic deformation of the alloy; they result from a dislocation-free plastic deformation mechanism. In cold-worked alloy, this plastic deformation mechanism forms elastic strain fields with a hierarchical structure ranging in size from the nanometer scale to several tens of microns. This elastic strain energy produces a number of unique properties.
