The morphology at river mouth facing the ocean has greatly been changed frequently. The purpose of the present study is to understand the relationships between the morphological changes and the effects of seasonal wave actions and river discharge, by analyzing frequent bathymetric surveys. In this study, empirical orthogonal function (EOF) analysis is applied to examine the morphological changes with a 7-year bathymetric survey data set. The result clearly shows the continuous erosion trend at the river mouth by wave actions and the influence of sand supply by river flood.
