The LCST-type phase behavior was observed for the blend of protonated polyisoprene (HPI) and deuterated polybutadiene (DPB) by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), time-resolved light scattering (LS), and cloud point measurements. The thermodynamic interaction parameter was determined to evaluate the miscibility by analyzing the SANS scattering profile in a single-phase state. In this paper the microstructure effects of polydienes on the phase diagrams and the miscibility of HPI/DPB blends is discussed. Furtherfore we explain the observed microstructure effects in terms of the random copolymer effect. The effective interaction parameter for the DPB/HPI blends is separated into the fundamental segmental interaction parameters between every pair of 1,2- and 1,4-unit in DPB and 3,4- and 1,4-unit in HPI.
