Micro mechanics theory of fatigue threshold stress intensity factor and dislocation free zone

抄録

The fatigue threshold stress intensity for factor ΔKth, based on dislocation dynamics was formulated as a simple function of temperature and grain size. This theory shows ΔKth decreases as temperature increases, and corresponds well with the experimental data for steel under not so high temperature. This theory also corresponds well with the surface roughness effect on ΔKth. Furthermore, the mechanical characteristics of the dislocation free zone were analyzed for various materials, and ΔKth was estimated by the dislocation free zone. The dislocation free zone corresponds well with the mechanical characteristics of ΔKth.
