抄録

In this study, machinability of three types of advanced ceramics was investigated comparing tool wear, tool life, and machine surface morphology. Results show that turning with sintered polycrystalline diamond tool is expected as a promising machining process for ZrO//2. Turning of Al//2O//3 is also possible to a some extent. However, turning of Si//3N//4 is difficult because of short tool life.
