N2 - We evaluated the changes of optic nerve head topography in 35 eyes of 35 patients over a one-year period. The series comprised 5 eyes of primary open-angle glaucoma and 30 eyes of normal-tension glaucoma. Using a new probability map analysis program in the Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT), the 35 eyes were classified into 3 groups: deteriorated group 17 eyes, unchanged group 13 eyes and improved group 5 eyes. Each group was then evaluated regarding 11 parameters in the HRT program. Only the improved group showed significant correlation with 3 parameters: cup area, rim area and cup-to-disc area ratio (p < 0.05). The findings show that the change probability analysis program may be useful for glaucoma eyes which show improvements in the optic nerve head.
