N2 - Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are employed to construct field emitters to inject ions into liquid helium. The nanotube field emitter (NTFE) works at voltages as low as +380 V for positive ion and -100 V for negative ion when the diameter of CNTs is 1.4 nm. From the experimental results, we suppose that the NTFEs will works at the lower voltages if the CNTs being 1.4 nm or less in diameter are used.
