N2 - In this study, the absorbed energy of partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) and SiCF is analyzed by the instrumented Charpy impact test and static three-point bend test. The influence of a stress-induced phase transformation on toughness in PSZ is investigated. The real fracture energy of PSZ is 57-59% of the total absorbed energy and that of SiC is 38-56%. Oscillated loading is found in the impact test of PSZ.
