N2 - The results of magnetic susceptibility and high field magnetization measurements on a single crystal sample of copper zigzag chain compound (N2H5)CuCl3 are reported. Magnetic susceptibility of this compound shows a round maximum around 10 K and decreases gradually. High-field magnetization up to 300 kOe of this compound shows a monotonic increase with a concave curvature. We compared the experimental results with those of calculation by the temperature-dependent density-matrix-renormalization-group method and obtained fairly good agreement between them when the ratio of the next-nearest-neighbor exchange constant to the nearest neighbor one is 0.2 to approximately 0.3.
