Guinier-Preston (GP) zone revisited: Atomic level observation by HAADF-TEM technique

抄録

It is shown that the high-angle annular detector dark field (HAADF) method with sufficiently small probe size can eliminate ambiguities in identifying precipitates without losing resolution. The intercalation of monatomic Cu plates are resolved in the early stage of the Guinier-Preston (GP) zone formation. In the second stage, monatomic Cu layers sandwiching three Al layers are chemically identified.
