Glassfiber reinforced plastics with a T-shaped crack under tension at low temperatures

This paper considers the thermal mechanical response of G-10CR glass-epoxy laminates with a T-shaped crack at low temperatures under tension. The T-shaped crack consists of an interface crack and a crack perpendicular to the interface. The composite material in generalized plane strain is assumed. The problem is formulated in terms of a coupled system of four integral equations. The integral equations are solved by using a Gauss-Chebyshev integration formula. Numerical results on the stress intensity factor at different temperatures are obtained and presented in a graphic form.
