Cr–Mn–Ni ternary alloys have been experimentally studied. Three different isothermal sections have been characterized at 1000 °C, 1100 °C and 1200 °C via Metallography, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron probe micro analyzer (EPMA). The results are summarized as follows: (1) the solubility of Ni in the bcc-(Cr) phase was small; (2) the solubility of Ni in bcc-(Cr) phase slightly increases as the temperature increases from 1000 to 1200 °C; (3) the σ-CrMn4 phase with 12 at. % solubility of Ni is observed at 1000 °C; (4) the fcc-(Ni) phase with a large solubility of Cr is observed at 1000, 1100, and 1200 °C, respectively. The experimental information obtained from this study is useful for the thermodynamic assessment of the Cr–Mn–Ni ternary system, and the development of databases in high entropy alloys of the Co–Cr–Fe–Mn–Ni system.
