Electro-optic polymer waveguides fabrication using thermal imprint lithography technology

抄録

Electro-optic (EO) polymer is a promising candidate for active materials in realizing optical modulator. It offers high-speed switching and high-bandwidth optical modulator devices. We study thermally-curable polycyanurate (PCN) doped high nonlinear optical chromophore (DPT) to create a guest-host EO polymer with thermally stable second-order nonlinearity. We fabricated the PCN-based EO optical waveguide by using simple thermal imprint lithography technology using silicone mold and we realized a single-mode propagation at a wavelength of 1300 nm by fine-tuning the refractive index of the core and cladding materials.
