Eight cases of cutaneous candidiasis resistant to Terbinafine presenting at four clinics in East Japan are reported. Six cases developed interdigital or genital candidiasis during the oral administration of Terbinafine for tinea of the nails. Two cases were recalcitrant interdigital or perianal candidiasis resistant to Terbinafine cream. The cutaneous candidiasis in all eight cases subsided after treatment with Imidazole cream. In six cases, the MICs (minimun inhibitory concentration) of Terbinafine to Candida albicans were 50 to over 100μg/ml. Terbinafine resistant candidiasis was determined to occur in about 10% of cases treated by Terbinafine at Yamagata City Hospital Saiseikan.
