抄録

The effect of liquid-phase ionic migration on the rate of absorption of carbon dioxide in aqueous solutions of sodium hydroxide was investigated using equations for diffusion, which contained a migration term, for all species in the liquid phase. These equations were solved numerically for both isothermal and adiabatic conditions. The validity of the theoretical analysis was confirmed in experiments on absorption in a wetted-wall column, and the results were compared with previously reported theoretical values.
