Direct 3D observation of grain boundary in cylindrical microdomains

抄録

Grain boundary structure of cylindrical microdomains in a block copolymer system was studied by Transmission Electron Microtomography(TEMT). TEMT clearly visualized the three-dimensional(3D) structures at the grain boundary. The winding of cylindrical domains in the boundary region was found. At the grain boundary, the cylindrical domains seemed to avoid the structure with divergence. It is supposed that the cylindrical domains solved the mismatch of hexagonal lattices of both grains by winding.
