Dimensional Crossover Effect of Pinning in YBa2Cu3O7Films

Temperature and field dependence of the critical current density Jcand its anisotropy in chemical vapor deposition processed (CVD) YBa2Cu3O7films deposited on SrTiO3(100) substrates were measured by a 4-probe resistive method. A kink in the temperature dependence of Jcwas found for B_c, while there was no kink in Jcfor Bl/c. This kink can be explained as the dimensional crossover effect from three-dimensional (3D) pinning to two-dimensional (2D) pinning. Below the temperature at which the kink appears, the 2D pinning affects the Jcproperties. The pinning model for 3D and 2D cases is explored, considering the extrinsic pinning and the intrinsic one, respectively.
