We report the de Haas - van Alphen (dHvA) effect study on Pr 0.03La0.97Pb3 where the non-Fermi liquid behavior is observed in the specific heat and resistivity measurements. The dHvA frequencies and the effective masses do not change appreciably from those of LaPb3 within the experimental errors. The effective masses are nearly constant from the high field range of the Fermi liquid state down to the low field range where the non-Fermi liquid behavior is observed. On the other hand, large phase shifts with temperature are observed in the dHvA oscillations. These observations indicate that the anomaly of the specific heat may not be related to that of electronic specific heat but there is a significant interaction between the conduction electrons and the f electron.
