We report on recent investigations of the fabrication of PbMo//6S//8 tapes prepared using an electro-plating and diffusion technique. Measurement of critical currents was carried out in either 16. 5 T superconducting magnet, or 20. 5 T (HM-3) and 23 T (HM-2) hybrid magnets in High Field Laboratory for Superconducting Materials RIISOM, Tohoku University in Japan. After optimal reaction the critical temperature measured by a resistive method reaches about 14. 5 K, and a transition width was less than 0. 5 K. Critical current densities are relatively high in a low magnetic field, and reached 1 multiplied by 10**4 A/cm**2 in a 15 T magnetic field at 4. 2 K. However, J//cs in a strong magnetic field above 15 T are still insufficient for practical applications. In some of these samples pinning force densities were found to obey a simple scaling law, and in most cases the scaling is not obeyed. Poor J//c-B characteristics in a strong magnetic field may be due to inhomogeneities of this compound.
