Contribution of the ultrafast, short-distance intermolecular electron transfer to the fluorescence quenching rate in solution

抄録

The free energy change of the reaction and reorganization energy of the solvent were used to describe the electron transfer rate constant in solution. The Marcus theory was used to describe the rate constant for electron transfer between a donor and acceptor pair at a fixed distance. The discrepancy between the theoretical and the experimental values was resolved and the importance of the short distance electron transfer in fluorescence quenching was demonstrated.
