N2 - We point out that the first optical Einstein ring system 0047-2808 may be used to set a unique restriction on the range of values of the cosmological constant. The existing data indicate the value Ωλ < 1.2, which is consistent with the standard big bang scenario. The constraint should be improved significantly by future detailed observations of the velocity dispersion of the lensing galaxy with large telescopes such as SUBARU.
