Complex impedance spectra Z^{{star, open}} (ω) of 0.2[(Li_{2}O)_{1-x}-(Na_{2}O)_{x}]-0.8(B_{2}O_{3}) (x=0 to 1) glasses were measured in the frequency range from 5 Hz to 500 kHz. The conductivity relaxation time τ_{M} obtained from electric modulus spectra shows remarkable mixed alkali effects as in the case of d.c. conductivity. The use of the usual CPE (constant phase element) in the complex non-linear least square fitting technique was found insufficient to express the observed impedance spectra for mixed-alkali glasses. The present data can be well represented by using the following two-parameter equation: Z^{{star, open}}[ω]= Z[0] [1+(iωτ_{c})^{n}]^{m} (0<n≦, 0<m). For mixed alkali glasses, deviations of parameters m and n from unity are much larger than those in single alkali ones. This suggests that the distribution of relaxation times in considerably enhanced in mixed alkali glasses.
