By making use of an effective smoke visualization technique with hot wire measurement, three-dimensional (3-D) boundary layer transition on axisymmetric rotating bodies and curved walls are studied in detail to clarify the process of the transition. Coherent structure in 3-D boundary layer transition is found to exist as that, advancing to the viscous instability (T-S wave), the streamwise stational disturbances are appeared as primary instability which are either dynamical or inflexional instability, and as secondary instability, spanwise traveling high frequency disturbances are induced by primary instability, and appearing on the surfaces of the primary disturbances.
