Spin waves in Co/Gd ferrimagnetic multilayers have been studied via Brillouin scattering. Satisfactory agreement between measurement and calculation was found at room temperature, based on a magnetostatic approximation. At 79 K the Gd contributed to the observed spectra with resultant spreading of the spin wave frequencies.
