抄録

Many houses in Tohoku region have poor thermal environment during winter, and the incidence rate of cerebrovascular disease in this area is the highest compared to the other areas of Japan. This paper describes about field measurements of indoor temperatures and home blood pressure of 55 elderly persons. In almost houses, temperature differences between a living room and non-heating rooms such as a bedroom and bathroom during heating times are large, and indoor temperatures at daybreak are as low as outdoor temperature. The systolic blood pressures of elderly persons increased at indoor temperatures below 15oC.
