抄録
The hemispherical-ended borehole technique is improved for the field stress measurement in a hot rock. It is shown how the original rock stress is determined independently of the thermal stress. A new spherical strain cell of 17 elements is developed for the in-situ measurements. From its successful application at Hishikari gold mine of rock temperature between 50°C and 80°C, it is clarified that the present method can be used effectively in a homogeneous rock mass.
